60 UMass Nurses Inducted Into Sigma Theta Tau International

On Thursday, December 7th, over 100 nurses were inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International, the Honor Society of Nursing, at the University of Massachusetts Campus Center. Of the nurses inducted, about 60 were UMass Amherst undergraduate and graduate students.

The local chapter consists of UMass Amherst, American International College, Elms College, and Westfield State University. The colleges rotate hosting duties and this year was UMass Amherst’s chance to host. Thanks to a dedicated team of faculty, especially Mary Ellen Burke and Nancy Thompson, the event was well received.

Membership is based on grade point average, integrity, and in some cases class rank. Learn more about the criteria here.
